I <3 The Internets
After a day of disgruntlement, trying to figure out what's wrong with my sister's laptop, and/or the wireless router, and/or the wireless card, I sat down with the strangely-functional LAUNCHcast, and took a well-deserved rest, with some good old-fashioned web surfing. Five sweet bits of news came my way:
Once and Again Is Back!
After learning that Ed was coming to CMT (Country Music Television) of all places, I figured it might be a good idea to do some searching at Zap2It for some other old TV series that might be making their way to a random cable station. I could've sworn I'd looked for Once and Again a week ago without finding it, but luckily, I looked again today, and found that the W Network is airing it! Saturdays at 11AM and 6PM, then again early Sunday at 3AM. I managed to find this tidbit before today's final broadcast, so I didn't miss the first episode. Bonus.
I didn't catch a whole lot of this series during its initial run, but I remember that I really liked what I saw. It's by several of the same people who did My So-Called Life, and thankfully lasted a few more seasons than Claire Danes' red-headed turn.
One moment that sticks in my head was a kissing scene between Thirteen wild child Evan Rachel Wood, and The O.C.'s lousy brother shooter Mischa Barton. It was racy (ie: good) enough to get the episode pulled by at least one ABC affiliate. I don't think either of the girls were over 16 at the time, but... yowzers.

Err. Anyhow.

It's another of those series like Gilmore Girls, where when I watch, my training bra is showing. W (short for "Women's") being the network of choice will attest to that. Nevertheless, it's supposed to be a great series, and I'm glad somebody picked it up.
The Shield Season 4 Arrives Early on Canadian TV
CH and a few Global affiliates aired the third season of The Shield over the summer. We've always been about a year behind FX. So it was a pleasant surprise to find the season 4 premiere on the schedule in the near future. The Cure looks like it'll be on Wednesday, September 21st at 10PM, on CH.
Season 3 of Six Feet Under
Another case of a sooner-than-expected return. The second season finale sat on my DVR for a few months, dated in March, so I was expecting a similar winter-ish timeframe for season 3. We're still way behind, with the fifth and final season already in the books on HBO, and TMN for the Canadian premium channel crowd. But it's nice to see Showcase pick up the pace a little.
TNA In Canada... Kinda
Scott D'Amore's Border City Wrestling is holding an event called International Incident this coming Thursday night, with a whole bunch of TNA talent on the card:
- Raven vs. Jeff Jarrett - NWA World Heavyweight Championship
- Christopher Daniels vs. Chris Sabin - X Division Championship
- Bobby Roode vs. Abyss
- Petey Williams vs. Jerry Lynn
- A1 vs. Rhino
- Johnny Devine & Eric Young vs. America's Most Wanted
What's really cool: It's less than a 2-hour drive, and my grandparents, aunt and uncle live only a few minutes away from the venue. If we manage to secure a vehicle before then, my brother and I may take a little road trip.
I'm not sure how I didn't know about this before. I'm pretty sure I'd heard of the fed, but had no idea they were so close. They had a show in July with AJ Styles and Bret Freakin' Hart, within walking distance of a place I visited all the time when I was younger, and even lived at for one summer. Gah!

"The Notorious 187" Homicide Headed To TNA
Not earth-shattering news or anything, but something else to add to the list. It's allegedly from the new Wrestling Observer, but I don't have a link for you.
I've liked what I've seen (except part of his ROH Main Event Spectacles match, which had some needlessly brutal unprotected kicks to B.J. Whitmer's head), including his Fight Without Honor against Trent Acid at ROH Wrestlerave '03, and the 4-way Death Before Dishonor match Vanilla Gorilla used to get all jorny about.
